Final Idea / Lore

After writing everything out into sentences and developing the story further using my research on existing worlds/lore I came up with this:


Long ago, before the creation of time its self the only thing that existed were two souls, Vaethilis and Olmera.

They were complete opposites, Vaethilis being seen as “evil”, representing emptiness, the void, and misanthropy and Olmera being seen as “good”, the ineffable everlasting light, full of creativity and the longing to create life.

Although separate souls, they cannot exist without each other. They can be seen as binary opposites, and to make it simpler for people to understand they can be seen as gods and that is what I will refer to them as.

Olmera created time, and began crafting the universe to fulfill her wish of creating life. Vaethilis finds fulfilment in emptiness, the void, so when Olmera started creating things it was not happy.

Vaethilis began subtly sabotaging Olmera’s work into creating the universe, creating disastrous volcanoes, disease, and general misery among people, trying to undo the work that Olmera had done.

Olmera grew tired and frustrated of this and made a trap to imprison Vaethilis. She created a magical prison, that was disguised as a planet, which would peak Vaethilis’s interest. As soon as Vaethilis’s soul gets close to the planet, he would be absorbed in and imprisoned forever. He fell for the trap and found himself imprisoned for thousands of years.

That is until he noticed the magic keeping him in growing weaker and weaker as time went on.

Vaethilis broke out of the magical prison and decided he wanted to get revenge on Olmera. His plan was to not only destroy the whole universe, but also destroy Olmera (which would also destroy himself, which makes sense being that his one true desire is to not exsist) so that there would truly be nothing left.

Vaethilis created the “Viles” (monsters) each with their own realms and evil themes, to help him with his plan. He was NOT going to be tricked by Olmera again. A galactic war broke out as they started seizing and destroying planets.

Hell broke loose on the universe until it got to the point where there were only a couple of planets left. Olmera needed to take action. She chose three girls that were on the brink of death to turn into magical girls to help her save the universe she put so much effort into creating. They became magical girls, with various magic styles and weapons. As they all come from such different backgrounds, (And planets) can they work together to save the universe from ultimate destruction?

Why would these girls accept such a contract?

They have nothing left to lose. Olmera chose these girls because they were almost near death. She wanted to give them a chance at rebuilding their lives, whilst also giving them the one thing they each desire. Who could say no to that?


Game structure:


You have the choice of playing from each one of the girls. Each girl has a different backstory & a different play-style so the experience you get with this game will vary depending on who you choose.


The game starts off 3 days before your chosen character takes the contract. You play as the character, getting to know their friends, family, story and what their life is like. Something bad happens to each one of the characters which leads to different situations but all end in the character being near death. I think this build up and backstory for the character is important to include as the player would become more immersed into the game and more attached to the character actually playing through how they got to be a magical girl, rather than just hearing about it through dialogue or books.


After this, you make the contract and have to go to various different realms (number undecided), which could also be seen as levels. Each realm is different with different enemies, terrain, and ways to play.


That's all I've thought of so far and as I'm making character profiles and not actually designing a whole game, I think it's best to leave it there so I don't do things that are unnecessary


Character Profiles


Here I am going to try and explain how I want the character profiles tro be set out.


There will be a title screen with three options, characters, maps & lore.


Characters page will lead to more options of the mage, the sorceress & the rogue.


Each character page will have things you can click on to find out more info, for example a map, to find out where they're from, their weapons, if they have a special thing that's unique to them such as a necklace, ect.


The map page will have a map of the world.


The lore page will have a mini story (maybe if i have enough time) explaining the lore.
