Choosing names for characters

I created some names for my characters, the kingdoms, and so on.

The reason why i chose to use this random generator is because it gives you a very wide choice of categories, and it also explains why and where the names are coming from. For example,

"God & Goddess name generator

This god & goddess name generator will give you 10 names fit for most gods and deities in many fantasy stories. The names are heavily influenced by Roman, Greek and Norse gods, but plenty of names should fit other cultures as well."

The process I found that worked well for me was picking around 10 names for each thing I wanted to name, and writing them down. I then refined them 10 names down to one singular name, thinking about how they sound, how easily they can be pronounced and if the name would really match the thing I'm trying to name.

Vaethilis

Vaethilis is the evil god/entity which I am not designing but will be in the lore page of my character profiles. I wanted its name to sound sharp and harsh, therefore looked for names with sharp sounding consonants.

Olmera

Olmera is the good god/entity, who I'm not designing either but will also be in the lore page of my character profiles. I wanted her name to sound strong, yet graceful therefore chose soft sounding names.

Kingdom of Septimania

This is where the mage resides from and also where magic is banned. This land is quite wealthy, hence the choosing of "septim". Septim is the main currency of The Elder Scrolls Universe. I guess you could consider this a small easter egg. The "mania" part of Septimania is due to the fact that they ban magic & execute people who wield magic, which to all other countries is seen as insane.

Eastshire

Eastshire is the capital of Septimania. It is located to the east hence the name. Not that important but will be mentioned in The Mage's story.

Pinewatch

Pinewatch is the hometown of The Mage. It is located to the west of Eastshire, just on the outskirts of the forest. It is called Pinewatch as it is literally almost watching over the woods.
