Production Diary's #3 01/05/18 Mage Planning Cont.

Continuing on from yesterday, I refined more of my ideas.

I first went to Pinterest again, and gathered some hair inspration in order for me to come up with more hair ideas. https://pin.it/2skswld75xljjm

I'd say drawing hair is not my strong point so I am finding a bit tough, but the more I draw hair the more I get the hang of it so I will get there.

I want to experiment more with hair as I don't feel like I've achieved much with this. I was trying to draw styles that looked elegant and flowing and I think only a few of these hair styles achieve that.

Next I experimented with outfit designs I had already made.

I first drew that galaxy pattern on different parts of the clothing to see how it looked compared to how I'd drawn it previously. I then drew the outfit with a different belt and neckline, which I liked quite a bit. I experimented with again a different neckline to really give some variation. I know these are small changes but even the smallest of things can really change how things look and how well it all works together.

I liked having the more rounded neckline instead of the sharp V neckline. I am trying to keep to rounded, flowing shapes with this character as I want her to be seen as good and kind.

Last of all I went back to a previous design that I gave up on.

I am still not happy with this outfit but it is an improvement. I can safely say I won't be using this for the final character.

Conclusion

I feel like I could of done a lot more today, but I am happy with the outfit development that I have made as it brings me closer to a final design. I'm thinking I should start on other characters now too as I am running out of time. I only have this week to have everything planned out and I want to get as much done as possible. I'm going to try and be more efficient.

I still need to draw this characters face and hair, and I need to start thinking about shoes and hands, I haven't drawn hands for a reason and that reason being that I suck at drawing them.

Next steps are to continue with character development.
