Although I have not completely finished my ideas, I thought I would start making the things I'm certain of. I wanted to start with something small as It's been a while since I've used both illustrator & Photoshop, so I decided to draw the warriors sword, as it seemed to me the most simple thing I needed to draw.
As expected, it took a long time but I now feel confident that I can use Illustrator efficiently, with the help of the tutorials on Illustrator's official website, https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/illustrator/tutorials.html
I figured a way to be more efficient in making symmetrical shapes in Illustrator, but I initially had some problems with it. I wanted to see if there was a way I could mirror what I'd drawn so I wouldn't have to spend ages figuring out the exact measurements for each side. I searched how to do it on the adobe website and found there was a "reflection" tool. I was a little confused of how to do it, and whenever I mirrored the shape, the original shape would be deleted. To fix this I simply copied the shape I wanted to mirror before doing anything to it, then mirrored the shape, then pasted the shape. There is probably a better way to do this but I found it quite efficient. Working in Illustrator meant it was easy to resize and reshape things if I thought they looked out of proportion.

I managed to finish the outline for the sword, and next steps will be to colour the sword in.
Research that has helped me with this: The tutorials from adobe's official website helped me to use the ... tool correctly and efficiently (in the end)
