As stated in my last production dairies post, I will be designing and coming up with ideas for the rogue. I have a general idea of what she will look like thanks to the RPG Heroine creator that I did, her main colour scheme is blues and greys, to match her icy cold personality.

I first started with her face, using the RPG Heroine creator character I made to help me. Long, straight, blue hair with blue eyes. I wanted her to look suspicious, or have the look of suspicion, so I made one of her eyebrows frowned and one of than raised. I also added a face mask because as she is a rogue, she will need to cover her face is she is caught or seen.

I next sketched out some outfits that I was inspired by Pinterest (I will post the boards below so you can see where I got ideas from). I was also inspired by my own personal rogue character in Elder Scrolls Online (Which I will post below) and the Rogue Character Analysis research I did, mainly focusing on Ezio from Assassin's Creed and Garrett from theif, as they're outfits are from the middle ages sort of times, and that is when I am basing my game idea in.

I see a lot of excessive belts and buckles in rogue type characters. I think a few are okay, but when they're popping up everywhere possible I think it just looks too much. Pockets and pouches are important. A rogue is bound to be carrying things like poisons and throwing daggers, plus with thieving rogues, they are going to need pockets to put their stoles goods in.

The first outfit on this page features a top with some texture to keep things interesting. There is a belt with a pocket full of throwing knives in, along with another pouch/pocket further down her leg. There are a few buckles and belts but not too many. I feel like this outfit is lacking in storage.

The second outfit on this page features 4 pouches/pockets. I think this is a good amount. There are quite a few belts and buckles, but not enough so it looks weird. This one also has a hood. I think this one is probably my favourite on this page. There is also some light protection with the arm cops.

The third outfit is excessive with belts and buckles. The legs have textured trousers and above there is a sash which holds pouches with throwing daggers & poison daggers. They look like they could fall out at any moment though due to the way it is angled.

The first outfit on this page features a corset waist buckle up thing, a hood with face cover and a belt across the waist with 2 pouches. I like that the top half is different and intersting, but I feel like there is not enough storage. I like the buckles around the legs but maybe 3 is too much.

The second outfit features a variation of the corset, it again has a hood and also features 2 small pouches and 2 throwing blade holsters. The arm cops and bracers add some protection, whilst the hood and face mask keep the rogue's identity hidden.

The third outfit I did not finish as I didn't like the direction that it was going in, but I learnt from it as I wont be designing an idea like that again.

The final outfit is my favourite on this page. It features a sash going diagonally accross the torso which hold throwing knife holsters. There is a belt with a pouch on and there are two pockets attatched to the trousers. The face is concealed and I like the material over the groin area, it could add protection if made using good leather, and adds something to that part of the body. As you can see from my next designs, I really liked this idea and developed it further.

Continuing on with the outfit design, and developing & refining my ideas.

The first outfit on this pager is similar to the one I said I liked on the previous page, but with some adjustments. The top half has a different design, with the throwing knife sash being removed and replaced with a waist belt that holds two pouches. Below that is a satchel, which can hold more than a pouch. The hood and face mask remains. I like this design but I miss the sash with the daggers, I feel like that was a nice touch and a good way to add extra storage, with the throwing knives literally being stuck to the torso.

The second outfit features the same throwing knife sash, but also features the satchel from the previous design, along with two pouches. I feel like this is the best design regarding storage and most likely will be the final one I choose. There are arm cops, arm guards and a waist guard, all offering protection (not much as it wont be made of metal, but enough to protect for a short while which is suitable for the style of this character, a rogue. Rogues don't charge into battle like warriors do. They sneak around and kill enemies silently and quickly. If they area skilled rogue they wouldn't need much protection at all as they would remain hidden and sneaky).

The third outfit is my attempt at merging together a few things, but ultimately it just looks the same.

The final outfit is a variation of the second outfit, but instead of the satchel, there is the pocket sash. I prefer the second design over this, as there is the throwing knife storage, the pouches, and the satchel, which gives choice and variety. The satchel could contain small stolen goods or food, and the pouches could contain poison or small healing potions.

I next started designing the rogue's weapon, a dagger. I chose a dagger as it is small, therefore suited to a rogue as it is easily concealed. This rogue will be dual wielding small daggers as there are lots of cool abilities I can make with dual wielding.

After drawing many different variations of daggers, from simple ones, to more complicated delicate ones, I think I want to go with something that looks simple with a twist. I still need to do more with the rogue's weapon choice. I do like the curved dagger however, on the first page third one across the bottom, it is simple yet has a twist. My favourite has to be the third one on the second page, but it will take too long to design in illustrator, and that is my personal favourite, not what I think will suit the rogue.

Conclusion

I feel like I have made very good progress with the rogue, having chosen her face, her outfit and almost her weapon. Still though, I am a bit behind. I have a few more things to do before I start actually making and putting it together, but with that said I might start drawing the things that I know I'm going to draw so it feels like I'm making progress with actually making.

Things I need to do: (By preferably Tuesday)

-Come up with skills and abilities for each of the characters

-Refine each characters backstory

-Refine the Warriors weapon

-Refine the mages clothing choice (I say this because when designing things for the warrior, I drew something that I thought would be very suited towards the mage, so I want to experiment a bit)

-Refine the rogue's weapon

-Image plan for Animate

-Start drawing on Illustrate/Photoshop
