Final Project Overview: Legend

Assignment Brief:

What are legends?

A legend is a semi-true story, which has been passed on from person-to-person and has important meaning or symbolism for the culture in which it originates. A legend usually includes an element of truth, or is based on historic facts, but with 'mythical qualities'. Legends usually involve heroic characters or fantastic places and often encompass the spiritual beliefs of the culture in which they originate.

You need to produce a creative media product which demonstrates the skills you have learnt throughout the year. You must conduct this project as if you are part of an interactive media or video games company, completing your planning, research, production and evaluations in a professional manner. In your lessons you will still be supported by staff, and must plan your project according to your timetable and staff/facilities available.

You can choose the type of product you would like to create but it must fit in with the Legend theme:

· Story Driven Game

· 2D game

· Board Game/ Card Game

· Interactive Character Profiles

· Animation / Rotascoping

· Interactive Sound

· GDD

You can choose from a range of software to create your idea including: Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Piskel, Game Maker Studio, Construct 2, Audition, etc. You will need to plan how you will use these considering timetable and room constraints.
